Do I need to pay to post my first externship?
▾
No. The Starter plan is completely free and includes one active posting with full applicant management. You only need to upgrade if you want to post multiple roles simultaneously or access premium features like featured listings.
What information can I see about applicants?
▾
You can see each applicant's full name, veterinary school, current year, declared interests (small animal, equine, exotic, etc.), uploaded resume or CV, and their optional cover note. Phone number and email are revealed once you send an offer and the student confirms.
How does the offer and acceptance process work?
▾
When you're ready to accept a student, you select "Accepted" in their application row and optionally add a start date and welcome message. VetMatch sends the student an email notification with your offer details and clinic contact information. The student can then accept or decline directly from their dashboard. You'll receive an email either way, and if they confirm, their contact details are automatically shared with you.
Can I manage multiple supervisors on one account?
▾
Yes. On the Practice plan, you can add up to 5 supervisors to your clinic account. Each supervisor can be listed on your clinic profile so students know who they'll be working with. Enterprise plans support unlimited team members.
What happens to applications if I close a posting?
▾
Closing or archiving a posting removes it from the public listing but preserves all application history. You can still access applicant records, resumes, and notes for past postings at any time from your dashboard.
Is there a contract or minimum commitment?
▾
No contract, no minimum term. Paid plans are billed monthly and you can cancel anytime. The Practice plan also includes a 14-day free trial so you can experience the full feature set before committing.
What kinds of practices use VetMatch?
▾
VetMatch supports practices across all veterinary specialties — small animal general practice, emergency and critical care, equine, large animal, exotic and zoo medicine, oncology, surgery, and more. Both independent practices and large multi-location groups use the platform.
